Life Milestones, Life Changing.
Baptism
God calls people to faith and to membership in the church.
At First Presbyterian Church, when a baby is born or adopted, we place a rose on the Lord’s Table and note the child’s arrival in the bulletin.
We welcome the new family member, show how happy we are that there is a new child among us, and give thanks for this new life.
Soon thereafter, parents may begin to think about having their child baptized.
ADULT BAPTISM
An outward display of an inward decision. For those who may not have been baptized as an infant, we embrace and perform adult baptism as well.
PLANNING YOUR BAPTISM
Baptisms only occur during a regularly scheduled church worship service and do not occur on the first Sunday of every month due to the celebration of Holy Communion.
We ask that the parent(s) of a child to be baptized or the adult seeking to be baptized meet with a pastor at First Presbyterian Church ordinarily at least one (1) week before the scheduled baptism.
To schedule a baptism, meeting with the pastor, or for more information, please contact Michelle Shev at (954) 598-9311 or via email.

Funeral/Memorial Service
We recognize the death of a family member or loved one can be one of the most difficult seasons a person can face in this life.
Planning a Funeral and/or Memorial service can be challenging during this time.

Wedding
Congratulations on your engagement!
Your wedding is a wonderful moment and the start of the incredible journey of marriage.
Over the years we have found it helpful to develop policies to ensure your wedding runs smoothly.
PLANNING YOUR WEDDING:
Your wedding ceremony is a service of Christian worship. As such, it falls under the rules of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s Book of Order and the policies of its governing body, the Church Session. As with any other worship service, we acknowledge our dependence upon God through Jesus Christ and seek His blessing on your marriage.
To review dates of availability, and/or obtain a wedding information form, wedding service contract or wedding fee sheet, please contact Michelle Shev at (954) 598-9311 or via email.
PAYMENT FEES:
No wedding date will be confirmed WITHOUT a completed wedding information form, wedding service contract and deposit check.
A five hundred dollar ($500.00) deposit to secure a wedding date is to be made in person to review and sign the contract. This deposit is due within five (5) days of placing a date on temporary hold. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable and will be applied towards the total fees owed the Church. The balance is to be mailed to the church to the attention of the Wedding Coordinator within ninety (90) days after securing the date.
Additional fees must be mailed and received no later than two (2) months prior to the wedding date. (Thank you for remembering to always put your wedding date and time in the memo line of the check to ensure proper recording.)
All payments must be made by personal check, cashier’s check or money order. If payment is made sixty (60) days or less prior to the wedding date, no personal check will be accepted, cash, cashier’s check or money order ONLY.
