The Study and Renewal Center
On January 30, 2011, the Grand Opening and dedication of the Study and Renewal Center was held and over three hundred people welcomed the opening of a wonderfully attractive and peaceful environment to experience God’s love for us all and to build relationships in our community.
Many activities have occurred over the last year at the Cottage. Monthly, there is a “Tea and Table Talk,” an activity where women can come and enjoy delicious homemade goodies with their tea and engage in inspiring conversations. Tea is held every second Wednesday of the month. Also, monthly there is a “Christianity and Culture Night.” This event is held on a Monday night with a variety of speakers. The featured speaker’s subject matter is presented, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.
Several groups within the church use the Study and Renewal Center for gatherings, fellowship and study; such as, The Prayer Shawl Ministry, The Ruby Girls Teen Bible Study, Coffee with Connie, and Inquire (a small group discussion). We have had individual events take place in the center, as well, such as the Men’s Ministry Retreat, Cursillo follow up meetings, and Single Women in Fellowship gatherings.
There are open hours when all are welcome to come and enjoy a relaxing environment with contemplative music, a cup of coffee or tea, God’s presence and peace and a break from the bustling world to be renewed and refreshed.
