First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Time!!  


The First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Committee is pleased to invite eligible students to apply for a scholarship
for the 2011/2012 school year.  Information about the Scholarship Program as well as the
Scholarship Application Forms is available on the Church's web site (
www.firstpres.cc - Publications/Scholarships/Scholarship Application Form).  Students may also request an application
by email (
scholarshipcommittee@firstpres.cc).  

Completed applications are due to the Scholarship Office by 5:00pm on THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2011.  There are no exceptions to the deadline. 

In addition, the Scholarship Committee will be holding workshops to answer questions regarding the
scholarship application and process on the following dates:

     Sunday, January 23rd - 9:45am-10:45am, Spanish Room
Sunday, February 13th - 4:30pm-5:30pm, Spanish Room
Sunday, March 13 - 9:45am-10:45am and 4:30pm-5:30pm, Spanish Room

Please stop by and one of our committee members will individually help you with any questions you may have.

If you are a member of First Presbyterian Church and you are pursuing a seminary degree or a graduate degree in a professional field of Christian Service, please contact the Scholarship Office for information regarding any loans/scholarships for which you may be eligible.  

The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to

         1.      To honor and recognize students for their commitment to First Presbyterian Church and 
                       their involvement in worship and church programs;

2.       To encourage the development of Christian character and growth in faith;

3.       To provide financial assistance to eligible First Presbyterian Church students who are members and 
           who have demonstrated a financial need;

4.       To provide financial assistance to qualified minorities who are active in their churches and meet 
           the required criteria; and

5.       To provide scholarships to eligible full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree at an accredited school.  To provide scholarships and/or loans to qualified seminary students.  To provide loans to graduate students who are seeking a degree in a professional field of Christian Service.
