Ministry to the Hungry and Homeless
Cookin’ In the Kitchen Every Monday morning members of our church cook 25 gallons of chili in the winter and Tuna-Mac Salad in the summer for the Cooperative feeding Program.
Serving The Homeless Some volunteers serve daily at the Co-Op Feeding, as well as others work in the kitchen as they serve the poor. Monthly, our teens also go to the homeless shelter to cook and serve meals.
Thanksgiving at First Presbyterian Each year the weekend before Thanksgiving our entire congregation gets together and provides the fixings for Thanksgiving Dinner for hundreds of families all over the Broward County area. We need donors, callers, truckers, sorters, greeters and deliverers to mount up this massive effort. That means you too!
Faith in Action One week of every year we open our doors and host two or three homeless families in cooperation with The Shepherd's Way. The remarkable surprise is the blessing we receive from this simple act of hospitality.
Collections of Food for those in Need Every week we collect food for the Shepherd’s Way Family homeless Center but throughout the year we participate in special projects like the Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive to benefit the Cooperative feeding program.
Hot Water of Hope Hot Water of Hope was founded by Marcial Regidor in 2007 with the basic idea of bringing a hot meal on a cold morning to the homeless and needy. His life's passion of food service and hospitality innately propelled him into "service-on-the-spot" providing hot water and instant coffee, cocoa, oatmeal and grits to the homeless. Join him as he ministers to those less fortunate. Contact Marcial Regidor at marcialregidor@yahoo.com or 954-839-7274.

Love Bags Love bags consist of a bottle of water, crackers, a granola bar, socks and a note from the church. The items are donated by our congregation and the bags are assembled by our youth. The assembled bags are then given back to our congregation members for distribution into the community. Love Bags are available in the youth office. |
